Gluttony: Consumption of resources at his disposal, such as the fate of the first Greed.Lust: Desire for power and willingness to manipulate others for it.However, such sins are still present within Father as seen through his Homunculi. These Homunculi are created using the various souls within himself to construct Philosopher's Stones, making the Homunculi relatively immortal until their Stones are worn. Manga/ Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood įollowing suit, the Homunculi that appear within the manga and Brotherhood are the creations of Father, allegedly to purge himself of his own sins so as to ascend to a godhood state upon The Promised Day. Homunculus in the meantime, became Father and would create other homunculi in his plot. Hohenheim, horrified by what Homunculus had done, left Homunculus, vowing to kill him one day. Everyone in the region was killed, except for Hohenheim and Homuculus who both received immortal bodies formed by the souls of the people who had been sacrificed. Homunculus, smiling, looked up at Hohenheim, who was holding his flask, and told him that he and Hohenheim were standing at the true center of the transmutation circle. However, Homunculus tricked Xerxes into standing away from the center, where Xerxes was killed. King Xerxes followed the directions of Homunculus, and was, then, instructed to stand at the center of the transmutation circle, where he would receive his immortal body. Homunculus instructed him to form a transmutation circle around the country, with a large massacre at every point. King Xerxes, the leader of the region where Hohenheim lived, strongly desired immortality, and commanded Homunculus to explain how to achieve immortal life. Forming a friendship with Hohenheim, Homunculus granted the man knowledge of various academics, including math, science, and alchemy. He appeared as a black, shadowy orb with one large eye and a very wide smile. For the beginning of his life, he was kept inside a flask, having no real solid form to assume. In the original manga and the Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood version, the original Homunculus is a mysterious being created from the blood of Van Hohenheim. 1.2 Manga/ Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.Though, thinking about it, Father could have used alchemy to convert the carbon dioxide back into oxygen I suppose.Īnyway, so in his container Pride breathes as normal just because he’s expected to do it in his acting, but as I mentioned in passing here, when he’s very relaxed while sleeping he’ll stop breathing, but he’ll still be totally fine the next morning. He managed to survive as his little blob in the flask on just the air that was inside it (assuming the flask is airtight to keep the homunculus alive) until his container was ready. In my headcanon Pride’s a little bit different as his shadows require less oxygen in general to function and can absorb it without opening their mouths. I guess if they were in a situation where they couldn’t breathe they’d be able to negate any damage by regenerating though. We see them taking breaths all the time, so it’s probably not something they’d choose not to do. Well, we know for a fact that they need to eat and sleep or else they’ll squander the power of the Stone, and breathing is definitely required on a much more frequent basis than those.
