![]() ![]() Regardless of which colour picker we are discussing (either Apple or freaky bob), it has to be in a window. As stated, there is no way on earth that a developer could reach the functionality of that, with a home-brewed freaky picker.Īnd not involve another floating window (soon gets crowded on some resolutions and desktop setups). That is the purpose of the Apple colour picker. If I could alter the colors from within OmniGraffle itself … And that’s only half my colours (the window does scroll). That is the native colour picker on the left, five tabs with several choices in each tab, with the OG Inspectors behind it. Here’s a screen shot from my MBP, which is small real estate compared to the desk monitor. Therefore I do not see how it takes longer or takes more keystrokes or movements. I trust that it takes at least one click to “get to” your unknown (to me) colour picker from OG. That is the minimum clicks that is possible for any action. It takes one click to “get to” the Apple colour picker from OG. (If you are talking about their OG 7 Beater, there is a separate thread for that … they really should list it as a separate product tab on this forum, which it is, and to avoid this sort of mix up, and circumvention of the purpose of the product tabs. I think what you’re saying is to use OSX’s native color inspector, which works fine as you describe.Īnd I know of no colour picker “for OG” or “in OG”. (Details above.) I certainly would not want to put my colours in each “app’s” colour list, and differently (both function and content) for each app. We put them there, and we have them there, to use from any app. That is the way Apple users get their “colors I use most often”. The Apple colour picker has 32 years of maturity. While the quality of developer at OG has dropped over the years, I do not think it has dropped quite the way to criminality. And whatever the criminal came up with, yes, it would be something very limited, and with a short list of weird colours. It would be criminal, in 2016, to “develop” a non-Apple colour picker for an app that is supposed to be for an Apple. This is a Good Thing, because it is far better than anything some developer somewhere in the backwoods of Tennessee or the deserts of outer Mongolia could come up with. The way OG or any other app that is written for a Mac gets its colour list is via the OSX facility. ![]() I’m not sure where that list comes from, but it doesn’t represent the colors I use most often. I’m asking for the color list within the OmniGraffle interface to be editable. ![]() The app is open-source on GitHub (see the website).I appreciate your help, but I don’t think that’s what I’m asking for. Use the feedback button in the “Help” menu in the app or email me at Open-source Paste color: Shift+Command+v (In the format Hex, HSL, RGB, or LCH) You can use the following keyboard shortcuts in the app: The color sampler is a system component and it can unfortunately not show other kinds of color values. Press the Space key while using the color sampler to show the RGB values. Launch it at login (when in the menu bar) Make the window stay on top of all other windows Pick a color or toggle the window from anywhere with a global keyboard shortcut ![]() Show as a normal app or in the menu bar Quickly copy, paste, and convert colors in Hex, HSL, RGB, LCH format Pick colors from anywhere using the built-in color picker. ![]()
